# Adding an Icon to the Server

The server icon is the image that will appear next to your server’s name in the server list.

**Steps:**

1. **Create the Icon**:
   * Create or find an image you want to use as the server icon.
   * The image **must be exactly 64x64 pixels** in size.
   * The image **must be in PNG format** (`filename.png`).
2. **Rename the Image**:
   * Rename the image to `server-icon.png`. The name must be exactly like this.
3. **Move the Image to the Server Directory**:
   * Place the `server-icon.png` file in the **root directory** of your Minecraft server. This is the same directory where the `server.properties` file is located.
4. **Restart the Server**:
   * Restart your Minecraft server for the icon to update and appear in the server list.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hidencloud.com/minecraft/adding-an-icon-to-the-server.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
