Step 4: Select Ticket Category While in the ticket creation section, choose the category that best fits your issue or question. The available categories are as follows:
To access the server console and manage your server, follow these steps:
Go to the (the platform or website where you manage your server) and enter your login credentials, which include the email and password you provided during the registration process.
Once you've successfully logged in, you'll be taken to the dashboard or main page. On this page, you should see a list of the available servers associated with your account. Each server will likely be displayed with its name, status, and some basic information.
To add an icon and a description to your Minecraft server, follow these steps:
The server icon is the image that will appear next to your server’s name in the server list.
Steps:
Create the Icon:
Create or find an image you want to use as the server icon.
The image must be exactly 64x64 pixels in size.
The image must be in PNG format (filename.png).
Rename the Image:
Rename the image to server-icon.png. The name must be exactly like this.
Move the Image to the Server Directory:
Place the server-icon.png file in the root directory of your Minecraft server. This is the same directory where the server.properties file is located.
Restart the Server:
Restart your Minecraft server for the icon to update and appear in the server list.
Log in to the HidenCloud panel: Go to https://panel.hidencloud.com and log in with your credentials.
Access the server: Select your Minecraft server.
File Manager: Within the server management, look for the "Management" category and within it, find the "File Manager" option. This tool will allow you to access all server files, including configuration files.
Locate the configuration file: Once inside the file manager, search for the Minecraft server configuration file. This file is usually named "server.properties".
Edit the server.properties file: Right-click on the "server.properties" file and select the option to edit it. This will open the file in a text editor within the control panel.
Find the online mode setting: Within the "server.properties" file, look for the line that says online-mode=true. This line determines whether the server requires premium authentication or not. If you want to disable online mode, change true to false. If you want to enable online mode, make sure it is set to true.
Save the changes: Once you have made the modification, save the changes to the "server.properties" file.
Restart the server: To apply the changes, it will be necessary to restart the Minecraft server. You can do this from the HidenCloud control panel by searching for the option to restart the server.
Verify the configuration: After restarting the server, make sure to verify that the online mode is configured according to your preferences by reviewing the "server.properties" file again.
If you prefer to use FTP configuration, the steps would be similar, but instead of accessing the file through the control panel, you would use an FTP client to connect to the server and edit the "server.properties" file directly from your computer. In both cases, it is important to be careful when editing configuration files to avoid issues with server operation.
Here you will find information about GameUserSettings.ini
GameUserSettings.ini is one of the primary files for making configuration changes to an ARK:Survival Evolved servers. If your GameUserSettings.ini file is resetting on server restart, this usually means there is an error in the file. This is often due to either a syntax error, or required settings missing from the file.
Before making any modifications to this file, please create a backup of it so you can restore it in case the file is reset again.
Log in with your username and password.
Access Account Settings:
Once logged in, click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Navigate to Account Settings:
Look for the option that says "Account Settings" and click on it.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA):
Within Account Settings, locate the box that says "Two-Factor Authentication" and click the "Enable" button.
Scan the QR Code:
A QR code will appear on the screen. You can scan this code with your preferred authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy). Alternatively, you can manually enter the provided code.
Set Up the Authenticator App:
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code or manually enter the provided code.
Save Backup Codes:
After configuring authentication, HidenCloud will provide you with a set of backup codes. These codes are crucial in case you lose access to your authenticator app.
Save these codes in a secure place. You can print them, store them in a secure password manager, or note them down in a safe location.
Complete the Process:
After entering the authenticator app code and saving the backup codes, click "Continue" or "Save" to complete the process.
You're done! You have now enabled two-factor authentication on your HidenCloud account. Remember that in the future, you will need the authenticator app, and in case of emergencies, the backup codes to access your account. Keep these items secure!

Payment Methods at HidenCloud
At HidenCloud, we understand the importance of providing flexible and secure payment options for our hosting services. Therefore, we currently offer three different payment methods to suit the needs and preferences of our clients: PayPal (One-Time Payment), PayPal (Subscription), and HidenCloud Balance. Below are the details of these methods:
Description: This option allows customers to make a one-time payment for hosting services without committing to a subscription. It's ideal for those who prefer to make payments as they require the service, without long-term commitments.
How It Works: The customer selects the services they wish to purchase and makes a one-time payment through PayPal. The client must renew the service manually as well as make the corresponding payment manually.
Description: For customers who prefer the convenience of automatic payments, we offer a subscription option through PayPal. This mode ensures continuous service renewal without the need to remember to make manual payments.
How It Works: The customer sets up a recurring subscription in PayPal, authorizing HidenCloud to charge the service cost periodically (e.g., monthly or annually). The client should NOT renew the service manually. Paypal is responsible for making the payment automatically.
Description: This option allows users to load funds into their HidenCloud account, which can be used to pay for future services. It's a convenient way to manage expenses and maintain budget control.
How It Works: The customer adds an amount of money to their HidenCloud balance, which is then automatically deducted when purchasing or renewing services. The client must renew the service manually as well as make the corresponding payment manually.
Description: This option allows customers to make payments using traditional bank transfers or through the Revolut platform.
How It Works: If you want to pay with bank transfer or Revolut, please contact elk sports and support will give you the details. Please note that this process is manual.
To ensure maximum convenience and accessibility, our payments via PayPal are compatible with a wide range of credit and debit cards, including:
Visa
MasterCard
American Express
Discover
Furthermore, it's important to note that it is not necessary to have or create a PayPal account to make a payment. Customers can opt to pay as guests, using just their credit or debit card on PayPal's secure platform.

Here you will see how to create a reverse proxy and connect your domain to a HidenCloud Server.
Here you will find a list of common errors and their solutions.
The console prints:
Java is trying to save Java Flight Recorder (JFR) files inside the container’s temporary directory. That tmp filesystem is very small; once it fills up, the JVM exits for safety.
Go to Startup → JVM Startup Flags / Arguments in your panel.
Add this flag exactly as shown, anywhere in the list:
Save the changes and restart the server.
Disabling JFR stops the .jfr files from being written, so the "no space left on device" error disappears.
No. Gameplay and mods continue exactly the same; you only lose an advanced diagnostic recording that most people never use.

How to change java version.
When hosting a Minecraft server on HidenCloud, the platform automatically detects and uses the most suitable Java version for your server's Minecraft version. However, there may be situations where you need to change the Java version manually. This could be due to performance reasons, compatibility with specific mods or plugins, or personal preference.
This guide will walk you through the process of changing the Java version on your HidenCloud server.
In this guide, we will show you how to configure a Bungeecord server. You will need at least 3 servers to begin this process.
🤝 Be respectful: Treat everyone with courtesy and consideration.
Emphasizes the importance of maintaining a respectful and friendly tone in all interactions with other members.
🚫 No inappropriate language: Avoid profanity and derogatory language.
This guide will explain how to set up a resource pack as a server resource pack, this means that all players will be given the option to use the resource pack when they join the server.
At times, you or your players might wish to establish a connection to your server using varying Minecraft versions. Achieving this is feasible through a plugin known as ViaVersion, enabling players to link up with the server using different versions.
: This serves as the fundamental plugin and is imperative for the functionality of all other add-ons. It empowers clients using more recent versions to interface with an earlier server iteration. Consequently, individuals on 1.16 can effortlessly connect to a 1.12 server. Please be informed that ViaVersion exclusively operates on servers spanning from version 1.8 to 1.17.
Here you will find common panel errors and their explanations.
Errors:
1. “There was an exception while attempting to communicate with the daemon.”
2. “We’re having some trouble connecting to your server, please wait…”
3. “You do not have permission to access the websocket for this server.” (If you continue to see this error after five minutes, your server may be bugged, please contact support.)
This guide helps you to prevent lagging (TPS ISSUES) on your servers by optimizing the configurations
Note for users that are on vanilla, Fabric or Spigot (or anything below Paper) - go to your server.properties and change sync-chunk-writes to false. This option is forcibly set to false on Paper and its forks, but on other server implementations you need to switch this to false manually. This allows the server to save chunks off the main thread, lessening the load on the main tick loop.
There will never be a guide that will give you perfect results. Each server has their own needs and limits on how much you can or are willing to sacrifice. Tinkering around with the options to fine tune them to your servers needs is what it's all about. This guide only aims to help you understand what options have impact on performance and what exactly they change. If you think you found inaccurate information within this guide, you're free to open an issue or set up a pull request to correct it.
Prohibits the use of offensive, rude, or derogatory language, including profanity and insults.
📵 No spam: Avoid excessive small messages.

Description: Buy a dedicated IP for your hosting.
Option: DEDICATED IP
Price: €10 monthly
Additional information:
Exclusivity of use: A dedicated IP means that it is assigned only to a specific user or client. No one else can use this IP, which offers greater control and customization.
Custom Port Configuration: By having a dedicated IP, the user has the freedom to configure any port they need for their services. This is useful for specific applications, such as web servers, databases, game servers, or custom systems. To add more ports, please contact support.
Support for multiple services: If the user has several services associated with their account, they can link the dedicated IP to one or more of these services according to their needs, to do so, contact support. This is ideal for centralizing configurations or to ensure that the services work with the same fixed IP. The same port cannot be repeated in different services. This is because each port must be unique within the same IP to avoid conflicts. If you want the same port in different services, you will have to hire more dedicated IPs.

Explanation:
These three errors all indicate the same issue: you cannot control the server from the panel at this moment. This typically occurs when the node is oversaturated. To prevent further saturation, control of the server from the panel is blocked.
Despite these errors, you can still use SFTP, and if the server was online, it will continue running normally. We recommend reloading the page later and trying again until the error disappears. If the error persists for a long time, please contact support.
Your choice of server software can make a huge difference in performance and API possibilities. There are currently multiple viable popular server JARs, but there are also a few that you should stay away from for various reasons.
Recommended top picks:
Paper - The most popular server software that aims to improve performance while fixing gameplay and mechanics inconsistencies.
Pufferfish - Paper fork that aims to further improve server performance.
Purpur - Pufferfish fork focused on features and the freedom of customization.
You should stay away from:
Any paid server JAR that claims async anything - 99.99% chance of being a scam.
Bukkit/CraftBukkit/Spigot - Extremely outdated in terms of performance compared to other server software you have access to.
Any plugin/software that enables/disables/reloads plugins on runtime. See this section to understand why.
Many forks further downstream from Pufferfish or Purpur will encounter instability and other issues. If you're seeking more performance gains, optimize your server or invest in a personal private fork.

BungeeCord is not a plugin
Users that are new to BungeeCord commonly assume that BungeeCord is a plugin for Spigot or Craftbukkit. This is not the case. Instead, BungeeCord is a server type, in the same way Spigot and Craftbukkit are.
BungeeCord cannot run Spigot or Craftbukkit plugins
Although it is developed and maintained by the Spigot team, BungeeCord is not Minecraft software and does not share any of the Spigot or Craftbukkit code. This means Spigot plugins are not compatible with BungeeCord. BungeeCord does support plugins, however only plugins that have been specifically developed for BungeeCord are compatible with BungeeCord.
BungeeCord cannot run worlds, players, etc
Since BungeeCord is not Minecraft software and does not run any of the Minecraft code, worlds and players cannot actually exist on a BungeeCord instance. BungeeCord is not a Minecraft server — rather, it is a proxy that simply bridges the connection between the player and server. It pretends to be a Minecraft server, but it isn’t. It’s only purpose is to forward you to one of the Minecraft servers under the network — if no servers are connected to the BungeeCord instance, the player will simply be disconnected upon joining as there is no Minecraft server under the network for them to actually play on.
Your BungeeCord network will need a server for each of the servers you wish to run, plus an additional server to run BungeeCord.
The minimum requirements for a BungeeCord setup is as follows:
Two Minecraft servers that you wish to connect together (typically running Spigot).
An additional Minecraft server to run the BungeeCord Software.
BungeeCord cannot be used as a Hub or Lobby server — you would need an additional server, running Minecraft software (Spigot) to do this.
National and international bank cards

Within this section, select the "File Manager" option.
Step 3: Installing the Plugin
Once in the "File Manager", you'll see a list of all files belonging to the Minecraft server.
Locate and enter the directory or folder where plugins are stored. This directory is usually named "plugins" or "plugins".
Within the plugins folder, click on the "Upload" or "Upload files" button.
Select the plugin file you wish to install from your local computer.
Once the file has been successfully uploaded, you'll see the plugin in the list of files within the plugins folder.
Step 4: Restarting the Server
After uploading the plugin file, return to the main control panel of the server.
Look for the option to restart the server. This may be labeled as "Restart", "Stop" and then "Start", or something similar.

Familiarity with navigating through server files is advantageous.
Start Your Server: When you start your server for the first time, HidenCloud prompts you to select the Java version.
Select Java Version: Choose the desired Java version from the options provided. This selection will determine the Java version used by your server. For example if you want Java 16 you just need to enter the number 4 in the console.
If you've already set up your server and wish to change the Java version, follow these steps:
Access Server Files: Log in to your HidenCloud server control panel.
Navigate to Server Files: Go to the directory where your server files are stored. Management -> File Manager.
Locate the disable_prompt_for_java_version File: This file is created after your initial Java version selection.
Delete the File: Remove the disable_prompt_for_java_version file from your server files. This action re-enables the Java version selection prompt.
Restart Your Server: After deleting the file, restart your server.
Select New Java Version: Upon restart, HidenCloud will prompt you to select the Java version again. Choose the new Java version you wish to use.
Changing the Java version can affect your server's performance and compatibility with certain Minecraft versions, mods, or plugins.
Ensure that the Java version you select is compatible with the version of Minecraft you are running.
If you encounter issues after changing the Java version, consider reverting to the previously used version or consulting HidenCloud's support.
Changing the Java version on your HidenCloud server is a straightforward process. By following these steps, you can customize your server's Java environment to suit your specific needs or preferences.

In the fast-paced world of hosting, efficient and accessible customer support is pivotal. HidenCloud recognizes this need and offers a variety of support channels to ensure that every query and issue is addressed promptly and effectively. This article explores the different avenues through which HidenCloud users can seek assistance and support.
Many of ARK's admin or "cheat" commands in ARK: Survival Evolved require a PlayerID or TribeID number to function effectively. You'll quickly realize that the number they are asking for is not the Steam64ID or any other Steam ID number if you are familiar with it. Those numbers are the UE 4 ID numbers, assigned by the game engine itself to every player or clan. This guide will show you how to find those numbers for a clan or player on your HidenCloud server.
Finding the ID numbers will require the use of administrator commands, so you should have set an Administrator password on your HidenCloud server, and then enable cheats for your identity. The following section tells you how to do both if you already have no idea how.
The admin password for your server can be set in the "Game Settings" section of the "Advanced" tab of the "HidenCloud" control panel. Make sure to hit the save button at the bottom of the page after entering a password, and then restart the server. It won't properly set the administrator password unless the server is restarted afterward. The admin password can also be set in the config file called "GameUserSettings.ini."
File management is an essential aspect of configuring and customizing your cloud projects. With , you can easily upload, organize, and manage your project files through the panel or by using an FTP client.

ARK Console Bar: Interface with your ARK server. When you load into the game, hit the tab key to open the console window in-game, appearing as a dark bar at the very bottom edge of the screen. If you hit tab a second time, the entire top half of the screen will be the console window, with a dark bar near the center for entering commands, showing the previous commands you've entered on the top half of the screen.
The extended window is very useful for catching mistakes entering an admin command earlier, which may have caused it not to work. For example, I repeatedly type "cheats" instead of "cheat" while entering commands. "cheat" works. "cheats" with the 's' at the end is wrong, and the entire command is ignored. Hitting tab again closes the console, or hitting escape.
Enable Cheats for Your Character: When you have the console open, enter the following command to activate "cheats" in-game.
If entered correctly, you are now an administrator and can use the "cheat" commands! You typically receive no confirmation message when the administrator is turned on. You can check if it worked by hitting tab again and typing "cheat fly" in the console bar to verify that you are an administrator. You should see the message "You feel much lighter," and if you hit the jump key, you will soar into the air! Type "cheat walk" to turn off fly mode if needed later.
Floating in midair is a great way not to get hindered in-game while entering admin/cheat commands.
Use the SetCheatPlayer Command: Hit tab again, and type this command (NOTE: for this command, you don't need to type "cheat" or "admincheat" before it as you do for most cheat commands):
To turn off the HUD, use the same command "setcheatplayer" but with nothing or false after it.
Finding a TribeID Identifier: With the "setcheatplayer" HUD turned on, just look at any tribe-related structure to see a "Tribe" number in the middle of the screen near the bottom. The "Tribe" number is the UE4 ID number in ARK for that clan.
Finding PlayerID Numbers: When you have the TribeID, use the following command, replacing (TribeID) with your TribeID as previously obtained.
Now that you have a TribeID and a PlayerID, you can correctly use many of the ARK admin/cheat commands.
List of ARK Console Commands: The entire list of ARK: Survival Evolved console commands can be found on their wiki at https://ark.gamepedia.com/Console_Commands.

A critical system component to understand is the OOM Killer. This is a mechanism in the Linux operating system, which HidenCloud servers utilize, designed to handle low memory situations. When your server consumes all available memory, the OOM Killer is triggered to free up resources. It does this by terminating processes, which can unfortunately include your server, leading to restarts.
Adjusting Memory Settings to Prevent OOM
To mitigate this issue, it’s essential to configure your server's memory settings correctly. Java, by default, can use all available memory, which might trigger the OOM Killer. You can adjust these settings through two key parameters:
Xms (Initial Memory Allocation): This setting determines the initial amount of memory Java allocates on startup. (You can't modify this)
Xmx (Maximum Memory Allocation): This is the maximum amount of memory Java is allowed to use. (You can modify this)
You can modify the server RAM (Xmx) through: Server -> Configuration -> Startup Parameters -> SERVER_MAC_RAM Variable.
The SERVER_MAX_RAM parameter in HidenCloud controls the maximum RAM allocated to Java servers, impacting the Garbage Collector (GC) performance. By default, it is set to "total server RAM - 512MB" to reserve some memory for system processes. Setting this value too high can lead to longer GC pauses, while too low can cause more frequent GC runs, both affecting performance. It should not exceed the RAM allocated to your server, as this may trigger the OOM Killer and stop the server.
To set this variable, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING SCHEME: -Xmx{RAM_in_megabytes}M. For example: -Xmx2048M.
When configuring these settings, it's crucial to allocate less memory than the total available on your server. For example, if your server has 8000M of memory:
Do Not Allocate the Full 8000M to Java: This leaves no memory for other essential system processes, risking an OOM situation.
Allocate Around 6500M for Java: This creates a buffer of approximately 1500M, ensuring there is memory available for the operating system and other processes.
This configuration helps in preventing the server from using all available RAM, reducing the likelihood of the OOM Killer being activated.
If your server continues to experience restarts due to memory issues:
Contact HidenCloud Support: Our team can assist you with further troubleshooting and configuration. HidenCloud Support
Consider upgrading your plan to one that has more ram.
Disabling the OOM Killer: As a last resort, HidenCloud support can disable the OOM Killer for your server. However, this is generally not recommended as it can lead to system instability.
Regularly monitor your server’s memory usage.
Consult with HidenCloud support for optimal memory settings.
Consider upgrading your server plan if memory issues persist.
By following these guidelines and adjusting your server’s memory settings, you can significantly reduce the occurrence of "Out of Memory" errors and server restarts, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience on HidenCloud.

Now go to configuration and then to advanced parameters.
Then where it says "Install Different Edition" select the edition (type) and the version you want to install.
Activate "Format" in case you want to delete all the old files and make a new installation and then click on Install. This process can take several seconds.
If you need to install a launcher/version/type that is not listed by HidenCloud, follow these steps:
Launcher Download:
Go to the official website of the launcher you wish to install. For example, if you want to install Magma, visit their site and download the version you prefer.
Uploading the .jar File:
Upload the downloaded .jar file to your server on HidenCloud. It is recommended to delete all existing files to avoid compatibility issues.
Renaming the File:
Once the file is uploaded, change its name to "server.jar". This will ensure that HidenCloud recognizes the file as the main launcher.
If you prefer not to change the name of the file, you can specify the new name (for example, "magma.jar") in the server's startup parameters.
These steps will allow you to use any launcher, even if it is not directly listed on the HidenCloud panel, providing you with the flexibility to customize your Minecraft server according to your specific preferences and needs.

In this tutorial we will explain how to install the java bin locally in a Windows environment.
Install the local Java binary allows you to have multiple versions of Java in a Windows environment without having to modify the system environment variables.
Step 1: Download the Binary First, you need to download the binary for the Java version you want to install. To do this, go to the official Oracle website and find the corresponding version. Download the JDK .zip file for the Windows version.
Step 2: Extract the File
Navigate to the location where the .tar.gz file was downloaded, then extract the content to a location of your choice. You might choose to create a folder named "Java" in your home directory and extract the content there.
Step 3: Access the Binary
The Java binary will be in the resulting folder, which will consist of various files and directories. If you've followed these steps, it should be named something like jre1.8.0_202 or jdk1.8.0_181, with the version varying. Within this folder, you'll find another one called "bin." This is the folder containing the binaries that allow you to run Java locally. The two executables included in the binary are java.exe and javaw.exe (java.exe will execute the file with the Java console, while javaw.exe will execute the file without the visual Java console, hiding it).
Step 4: Using Local Java
Instead of changing your system's environment variables, all you need to do to use this local Java installation is refer directly to it when entering commands. For example, if you want to compile a Java file, the normal command would be "java TestFile.java." However, if you want to use the local Java, you need to specify the full path to your Java binary.
Instead of just "java," the command should look something like this:
In our case, it might look like this:
This will compile the file using the Java binary you extracted, not the one installed in the system's environment variables.
Step 5: Create a Batch File (.bat extension)
To avoid typing out the full path each time, you can create a batch file in the same directory where your .java files are located. This batch file can contain the complete command, so you only need to run the batch file to compile your Java files.
An example of a batch file for a Minecraft server USING the binary directly (locally) might be:
-Xms1G -Xmx2G -jar spigot.jar nogui timeout 10 goto start
-Xms1G is the argument that sets the minimum amount of RAM allocated to your Minecraft server (in this case, 1 gigabyte).
-Xmx2G is the argument that sets the maximum amount of RAM your Minecraft server can use (in this case, 2 gigabytes).
goto start is used to restart the server in case of crashes, bugs, or restarts.
If the binary folder (jre1.8.0_202) is in the same folder as the Minecraft server, you can use the following code:
Since the binary is in the same folder as the server, Windows will use the dynamic path to find the file. This way, you don't have to specify the entire path, just the path starting from the folder where the batch file is located.
An example of a batch file for a Minecraft server NOT USING the binary directly (locally) and using Windows environment variables could be:
Good starting value: true Enable this to hide ores from x-rayers. For detailed configuration of this feature check out Configuring Anti-Xray.
anti-xray.enabled
Good starting value: true
Enable this to hide ores from x-rayers. For detailed configuration of this feature check out Configuring Anti-Xray. Enabling this will actually decrease performance, however it is much more efficient than any anti-xray plugin. In most cases the performance impact will be negligible.
nether-ceiling-void-damage-height
Good starting value: 127
If this option is greater that 0, players above the set y level will be damaged as if they were in the void. This will prevent players from using the nether roof. Vanilla nether is 128 blocks tall, so you should probably set it to 127. If you modify the height of the nether in any way you should set this to [your_nether_height] - 1.
. Oracle has changed their licensing, and there is no longer a compelling reason to get your java from them. Recommended vendors are and . Alternative JVM implementations such as OpenJ9 or GraalVM can work, however they are not supported by Paper and have been known to cause issues, therefore they are not currently recommended.
Your garbage collector can be configured to reduce lag spikes caused by big garbage collector tasks. You can find startup flags optimized for Minecraft servers . Keep in mind that this recommendation will not work on alternative JVM implementations. It's recommended to use the startup flags generator to get the correct startup flags for your server
In addition, adding the beta flag --add-modules=jdk.incubator.vector before -jar in your startup flags can improve performance. This flag enables Pufferfish to use SIMD instructions on your CPU, making some maths faster. Currently, it's only used for making rendering in game plugin maps (like imageonmaps) possibly 8 times faster.
Absolutely unnecessary since they can be replaced with and and frankly, they're less configurable than basic server configs. They tend to use more resources scanning and removing items than not removing the items at all.
It's really hard to justify using one. Stacking naturally spawned entities causes more lag than not stacking them at all due to the server constantly trying to spawn more mobs. The only "acceptable" use case is for spawners on servers with a large amount of spawners.
Anything that enables or disables plugins on runtime is extremely dangerous. Loading a plugin like that can cause fatal errors with tracking data and disabling a plugin can lead to errors due to removing dependency. The /reload command suffers from exact same issues and you can read more about them in
Paper offers a /mspt command that will tell you how much time the server took to calculate recent ticks. If the first and second value you see are lower than 50, then congratulations! Your server is not lagging! If the third value is over 50 then it means there was at least 1 tick that took longer. That's completely normal and happens from time to time, so don't panic.
is a plugin that allows you to profile your server's CPU and memory usage. You can read on how to use it . There's also a guide on how to find the cause of lag spikes .
Way to see what might be going on when your server is lagging are Timings. Timings is a tool that lets you see exactly what tasks are taking the longest. It's the most basic troubleshooting tool and if you ask for help regarding lag you will most likely be asked for your Timings. Timings is known to have a serious performance impact on servers, it's recommended to use the Spark plugin over Timings and use Purpur or Pufferfish to disable Timings all together.
To get Timings of your server, you just need to execute the /timings paste command and click the link you're provided with. You can share this link with other people to let them help you. It's also easy to misread if you don't know what you're doing. There is a detailed on how to read them.

Keep up to date on your server software. There are exploits that are fixed in newer versions of the software, even if it's not announced. If you are running a server, you should be running the latest version possible to avoid critical vulnerabilities.
Armor stands can be used to create lag machines. This is done by placing huge amounts of armor stands and forcing them to move via water, pistons or other means. This can be fixed by disabling armor stand tick and collision lookups. This will cause armor stands to not being able to be pushed or pulled (even by gravity).
paper-world-defaults.yml
Books are a common target for exploitation techniques, and have been used for all sorts of nasty things in the past including duplication exploits, crash exploits, and forcing servers to run out of memory while producing massive amounts of chunk data.
Option 1
Moderately reducing page-max can mitigate most book exploits without affecting vanilla clients.
paper-global.yml
Option 2
Disabling books completely prevents the most book exploits (as long as plugins don't create non-standard books). Pufferfish config option prevents players from writing to the book, therefore ruling out anything that requires player input to work.
pufferfish.yml
This exploit is similar to the armor stand one, but instead of armor stands, it uses entities that can be pushed by other entities. This can be fixed by setting a smaller limit on how many entities can collide with a singular entity. You can set the max-entity-collisions to 2 to still have relatively natural behavior, or set it to 0 to completely disable collisions. The option to fix climbing bypassing cramming rule is also available, but it's disabled by default.
paper-world-defaults.yml
Some commands on the server might have a lot of logic involved with their command suggestions. This can be exploited by sending a lot of packets that request the server to send suggestions for the command. This can be mitigated by setting packet limit for command suggestions that is just slightly above fast rate of typing commands, so normal players won't be affected.
paper-global.yml
While even spigot will protect you from this exploit, there's a slight oversight that will enable a single command to be usable to perform this one. To fix this, simply remove /skill command from the spam exclusions list in spigot.yml.
spigot.yml
Sometimes shear quantity of players joining the server can cause the server to lag out. This is especially true for bot attacks and moments after server restart. This can be fixed by setting max joins per tick. Players joining will be delayed in time so server can properly tick between handling them. If joins still overwhelm the server, you can also enable max-joins-per-second in purpur.yml that will make it so value from paper config will be applied per second instead of per tick.
paper-global.yml
purpur.yml
Limiting the amount of consecutive neighbor updates before skipping additional ones. Moderately reducing this value has no game impact and helps alleviate various 'neighbor update lag machines'.
server.properties
Projectiles can be suspended in bubble columns indefinitely. They can also be transported into unloaded chunks in mass. If anyone loads the chunk with amassed projectiles, server can crash due to loading too many things at once. This can be stopped by limiting how much time projectiles can exist in the world and how many of them are saved and loaded with a chunk. If the timeout is applied to ender pearls, it will prevent usage of ender pearl suspension contraption.
paper-world-defaults.yml
pufferfish.yml
Malicious players can use auto clicker or a mod to switch between recipe book recipes extremely quickly. This is pretty expensive operation for the server and can cause huge slowdowns. This is actually fixed in default paper config, but older configs might not have it added, so make sure it's there.
paper-global.yml
When new treasure map is generated, usually via cartographer villager or opening a chest with treasure map in it, the server searches for the treasure that map should lead to. This search is done in a way that in most cases causes a lot of chunks loading and possibly generating them. This search can halt the server for long enough that watchdog process kills it. It can also be triggered by feeding dolphins fish.
Option 1
To fix this one you basically have to disable treasure maps and dolphins searching for treasure. This is the recommended and 100% effective solution.
paper-world-defaults.yml
purpur.yml
Option 2
Alternatively, you can keep the maps enabled, but set up vanilla world border and make sure your world is pregenerated within the border. Then you can just make sure that already discovered treasures are valid as the search result. This will prevent the treasure search from loading chunks that are not generated.
paper-world-defaults.yml
Managing server performance and security requires careful consideration of various exploits and mechanisms that can impact gameplay and stability. From managing entity interactions to controlling chunk loading during treasure hunts, administrators must implement strategic configurations and updates.
Ensuring that server configurations, such as disabling treasure map searches or limiting entity interactions, align with performance goals can mitigate potential slowdowns or crashes caused by intensive operations. Additionally, keeping server software updated with the latest patches and configurations is crucial to safeguard against new exploits and vulnerabilities.
By balancing functionality with performance optimizations, server administrators can provide a stable and enjoyable experience for players while maintaining security and preventing disruptive gameplay issues.

Knowing how to optimize your server is vital in preventing server lag. Luckily, there are a lot of tools available for you to use to get the best possible performance out of your server and even push
Chunky Plugin: Pre-generating your world
A vital step in lag removal is pre-generating the world. This should be done before anything else. The best way to do this is with the Chunky plugin. All you have to do is install the plugin and run the following commands: /chunky radius 5000 followed by /chunky start.
This will pre-generate a 5,000 block radius around your world spawn. The server will lag heavily while the process is running, but once it is done your performance will improve dramatically. You can increase the radius as much as you like, but we recommend keeping it under 20,000 blocks. Any larger and you could possibly create more lag than you would be preventing.
Spark Plugin:
To install spark, just need to download the latest spark .jar file from downloads page and place in the server mods or plugins folder.
spark will load the next time your server (re)starts.
You will be able to control spark with the /spark command.
Optional Plugins:
(This plugin is perfect for servers that wish to alleviate common sources of lag, whilst also gaining access to features that improve the functionality and feel of the server.)

Select the server you want to change the version or type of Minecraft game on.
Now go to configuration and then to startup parameters.
Here you can edit all the parameters available for your server.
For the Java flags, we recommend not touching them if you do not know what is happening since it can affect the performance of the server, we recommend reading the following part to obtain more knowledge about JVM Startup Flags.
Use these flags exactly, only changing Xmx and Xms. These flags work and scale accordingly to any size of memory, even 500MB but modern Minecraft versions will not do well with such low memory.
DO NOT ALLOCATE ALL OF YOUR AVAILABLE MEMORY ON A SHARED HOST!
When setting the Xms and Xmx values, if your host says you have 8000M memory, DO NOT USE 8000M! Minecraft (and Java) needs additional memory on top of that Xmx parameter. It is recommended to reduce your Xmx/Xms by about 1000-1500M to avoid running out of memory or "OOMKiller" hitting your server. This also leaves room for the Operating System to use memory too. Have 8000M memory? Use 6500M for safety. But you may also ask your host if they will cover this overhead for you and give you 9500M instead. Some hosts will! Just ask.
We recommend using at least 6-10GB, no matter how few players! If you can't afford 10GB of memory, give as much as you can, but ensure you leave the operating system some memory too. G1GC operates better with more memory.
However, more memory does not mean better performance above a certain point. Eventually you will hit a point of diminishing returns. Going out and getting 32GB of RAM for a server will only waste your money with minimal returns.
If you are running with 12GB or less memory for MC, you should not adjust these parameters.
If you have and use more than 12GB of memory, adjust the following:
-XX:G1NewSizePercent=40
-XX:G1MaxNewSizePercent=50
-XX:G1HeapRegionSize=16M
TIP
If you see increase in old generation collections after this, revert to the base flags!
Explanation of these changes:
Base flag set aims for 30/40 to reduce risk of to space issues. With more memory, less of an issue. We can give more to new generation with 40/50, as well as reduce reserve percent since the default reserve will already be larger.
Region Size increase helps reduce humongous allocations, and speeds up remarking. We need a smaller region size at smaller heaps to ensure an adequate amount of regions available
We can start looking for old generation memory to reclaim with more of a delay with IHOP at 20 since we have more old generation available to space on CPU.
Are you having old gen issues with these flags? Add the following flags based on your java version to enable GC Logging:
Java 8-10
Java 11+
GC logging does not hurt your performance and can be left on at all times. The files will not take up much space (5MB)
-Xms matching -Xmx -- Why: You should never run your server with the case that -Xmx can run the system completely out of memory. Your server should always be expected to use the entire -Xmx! You should then ensure the OS has extra memory on top of that Xmx for non MC/OS level things. Therefore, you should never run MC with -Xmx settings you can't support if java uses it all. Now, that means if -Xms is lower than -Xmx YOU HAVE UNUSED MEMORY! Unused memory is wasted memory. G1 operates better with the more memory it's given. G1 adaptively chooses how much memory to give to each region to optimize pause time. If you have more memory than it needs to reach an optimal pause time, G1 will simply push that extra into the old generation, and it will not hurt you The fundamental idea of improving GC behavior is to ensure short-lived objects die young and never get promoted. With the more memory G1 has, the better assurance you will get that objects are not getting prematurely promoted to the old generation. G1 Operates differently than previous collectors and is able to handle larger heaps more efficiently.
If it does not need the memory given to it, it will not use it. The entire engine operates differently and does not suffer from too large of heaps, and this is industry-wide accepted information that under G1 to keep Xms and Xmx the same!
For Large Pages -- It's even more important to use -Xms = -Xmx! Large Pages needs to have all the memory specified for it, or you could end up without the gains. This memory will not be used by the OS anyway, so use it.
Additionally, use these flags (Metaspace is Java 8 Only, don't use it for Java7): -XX:+UseLargePagesInMetaspace
Controversial feature but may be usable if you can not configure your host for real HugeTLBFS. Try adding -XX:+UseTransparentHugePages but it's extremely important you also have AlwaysPreTouch set. Otherwise, THP will likely hurt you. We have not measured how THP works for MC or its impact with AlwaysPreTouch, so this section is for the advanced users who want to experiment.

-XX:G1ReservePercent=15
-XX:InitiatingHeapOccupancyPercent=20
G1NewSizePercent: These are the important ones. You now can specify percentages of an overall desired range for the new generation. With these settings, we tell G1 to not use its default 5% for new gen, and instead give it 40%! Minecraft has an extremely high a memory allocation rate, ranging to at least 800 Megabytes a second on a 30 player server! And this is mostly short-lived objects (Block Position).
Now, this means MC REALLY needs more focus on New Generation to be able to even support this allocation rate. If your new gen is too small, you will be running new gen collections 1-2+ times per second, which is awful. You will have so many pauses that TPS has risk of suffering, and the server will not be able to keep up with the cost of GC's. Then combine the fact that objects will now promote faster, resulting in your Old Gen growing faster. Given more New Gen, we are able to slow down the intervals of Young Gen collections, resulting in more time for short-lived objects to die young and overall more efficient GC behavior.
G1MixedGCLiveThresholdPercent: Controls when to include regions in Mixed GC's in the Young GC collection, keeping Old Gen tidy without doing a normal Old Gen GC collection. When your memory is less than this percent, old gen won't even be included in 'mixed' collections. Mixed are not as heavy as a full old collection, so having small incremental cleanups of old keeps memory usage light.
Default is 65 to 85 depending on Java Version, we are setting to 90 to ensure we reclaim garbage in old gen as fast as possible to retain as much free regions as we can.
G1ReservePercent=20: MC Memory allocation rate in up-to-date versions is really insane. We run the risk of a dreaded "to-space exhaustion" not having enough memory free to move data around. This ensures more memory is waiting to be used for this operation. Default is 10, so we are giving another 10 to it.
MaxTenuringThreshold=1: Minecraft has a really high allocation rate of memory. Of that memory, most is reclaimed in the eden generation. However, transient data will overflow into survivor. Initially played with completely removing Survivor and had decent results, but does result in transient data making its way to Old which is not good.Max Tenuring 1 ensures that we do not promote transient data to old generation, but anything that survives 2 passes of Garbage Collection is just going to be assumed as longer-lived.
Doing this greatly reduces pause times in Young Collections as copying data up to 15 times in Survivor space for a tenured object really takes a lot of time for actually old memory. Ideally the GC engine would track average age for objects instead and tenure out data faster, but that is not how it works.
Considering average GC rate is 10s to the upwards of minutes per young collection, this does not result in any 'garbage' being promoted, and just delays longer lived memory to be collected in Mixed GC's.
SurvivorRatio=32: Because we drastically reduced MaxTenuringThreshold, we will be reducing use of survivor space drastically. This frees up more regions to be used by Eden instead.
AlwaysPreTouch: AlwaysPreTouch gets the memory setup and reserved at process start ensuring it is contiguous, improving the efficiency of it more. This improves the operating systems memory access speed. Mandatory to use Transparent Huge Pages
+DisableExplicitGC: Many plugins think they know how to control memory, and try to invoke garbage collection. Plugins that do this trigger a full garbage collection, triggering a massive lag spike. This flag disables plugins from trying to do this, protecting you from their bad code.
MaxGCPauseMillis=200: This setting controls how much memory is used in between the Minimum and Maximum ranges specified for your New Generation. This is a "goal" for how long you want your server to pause for collections. 200 is aiming for at most loss of 4 ticks. This will result in a short TPS drop, however the server can make up for this drop instantly, meaning it will have no meaningful impact to your TPS. 200ms is lower than players can recognize. In testing, having this value constrained to an even lower number results in G1 not recollecting memory fast enough and potentially running out of old gen triggering a Full collection. Just because this number is 200 does not mean every collection will be 200. It means it can use up to 200 if it really needs it, and we need to let it do its job when there is memory to collect.
+ParallelRefProcEnabled: Optimizes the GC process to use multiple threads for weak reference checking. Not sure why this isn't default...
G1RSetUpdatingPauseTimePercent=5: Default is 10% of time spent during pause updating Rsets, reduce this to 5% to make more of it concurrent to reduce pause durations.
G1MixedGCCountTarget=4: Default is 8. Because we are aiming to collect slower, with less old gen usage, try to reclaim old gen memory faster to avoid running out of old.
G1HeapRegionSize=8M+: Default is auto calculated. SUPER important for Minecraft, especially 1.15, as with low memory situations, the default calculation will in most times be too low. Any memory allocation half of this size (4MB) will be treated as "Humongous" and promote straight to old generation and is harder to free. If you allow java to use the default, you will be destroyed with a significant chunk of your memory getting treated as Humongous.
+PerfDisableSharedMem: Causes GC to write to file system which can cause major latency if disk IO is high -- See https://www.evanjones.ca/jvm-mmap-pause.html

Availability of Nodes/Servers:
This indicates that the free service does not have guaranteed constant availability, as it depends on the capacity of the servers available at any given time.
Server Shutdown:
If system resources are needed for other priority uses, your server may be shut down to free up those resources.
It is important to note that the server will be "shut down" rather than "killed." "Shut down" means that the server will be stopped with the /stop command or a game-related command, as if you pressed the shutdown button, while "kill" implies a forced shutdown that could result in data loss.
Condition for Shutdown:
This measure will only be applied if your server does not have any players online at that time, ensuring that the interruption does not affect active users.

Some of the main files that you will want to modify to really optimize your server are Bukkit.yml, Paper-world-defaults.yml, and Spigot.yml.
To use these settings, stop your server from your control panel then click on the tabs below to show the optimized settings for each file. These files can be found in the File Manager tab on your Control Panel. However, the paper files are located in the “config” directory. You can open them in the online web editor by clicking on the “edit” button to the far right of the file. Once you are done editing be sure to click the green “Save” button, then restart the server for the changes to take effect.
use-alternate-keepalive
Good starting value: trueYou can enable Purpur's alternate keepalive system so players with bad connection don't get timed out as often. Has known incompatibility with TCPShield. server.properties
simulation-distance
Good starting value: 4
Simulation distance is distance in chunks around the player that the server will tick. Essentially the distance from the player that things will happen. This includes furnaces smelting, crops and saplings growing, etc. This is an option you want to purposefully set low, somewhere around 3 or 4, because of the existence of view-distance. This allows to load more chunks without ticking them. This effectively allows players to see further without the same performance impact.
view-distance
Good starting value: 7
This is the distance in chunks that will be sent to players, similar to no-tick-view-distance from paper.
The total view distance will be equal to the greatest value between simulation-distance and view-distance. For example, if the simulation distance is set to 4, and the view distance is 12, the total distance sent to the client will be 12 chunks.
view-distance
Good starting value: default
This value overwrites server.properties one if not set to default. You should keep it default to have both simulation and view distance in one place for easier management.
delay-chunk-unloads-by
Good starting value: 10s
This option allows you to configure how long chunks will stay loaded after a player leaves. This helps to not constantly load and unload the same chunks when a player moves back and forth. Too high values can result in way too many chunks being loaded at once. In areas that are frequently teleported to and loaded, consider keeping the area permanently loaded. This will be lighter for your server than constantly loading and unloading chunks.
max-auto-save-chunks-per-tick
Good starting value: 8
Lets you slow down incremental world saving by spreading the task over time even more for better average performance. You might want to set this higher than 8 with more than 20-30 players. If incremental save can't finish in time then bukkit will automatically save leftover chunks at once and begin the process again.
prevent-moving-into-unloaded-chunks
Good starting value: true
When enabled, prevents players from moving into unloaded chunks and causing sync loads that bog down the main thread causing lag. The probability of a player stumbling into an unloaded chunk is higher the lower your view-distance is. entity-per-chunk-save-limit
With the help of this entry you can set limits to how many entities of specified type can be saved. You should provide a limit for each projectile at least to avoid issues with massive amounts of projectiles being saved and your server crashing on loading that. You can put any entity id here, see the minecraft wiki to find IDs of entities. Please adjust the limit to your liking. Suggested value for all projectiles is around 10. You can also add other entities by their type names to that list. This config option is not designed to prevent players from making large mob farms.
max-loads-per-projectile
Good starting value: 8
Specifies the maximum amount of chunks a projectile can load in its lifetime. Decreasing will reduce chunk loads caused by entity projectiles, but could cause issues with tridents, enderpearls, etc. bukkit.yml
spawn-limits
The math of limiting mobs is [playercount] * [limit], where "playercount" is current amount of players on the server. Logically, the smaller the numbers are, the less mobs you're gonna see. per-player-mob-spawn applies an additional limit to this, ensuring mobs are equally distributed between players. Reducing this is a double-edged sword; yes, your server has less work to do, but in some gamemodes natural-spawning mobs are a big part of a gameplay. You can go as low as 20 or less if you adjust mob-spawn-range properly. Setting mob-spawn-range lower will make it feel as if there are more mobs around each player. If you are using Paper, you can set mob limits per world in paper-world configuration.
ticks-per
This option sets how often (in ticks) the server attempts to spawn certain living entities. Water/ambient mobs do not need to spawn each tick as they don't usually get killed that quickly. As for monsters: Slightly increasing the time between spawns should not impact spawn rates even in mob farms. In most cases all of the values under this option should be higher than 1. Setting this higher also allows your server to better cope with areas where mob spawning is disabled.
mob-spawn-range
Good starting value: 3
Allows you to reduce the range (in chunks) of where mobs will spawn around the player. Depending on your server's gamemode and its playercount you might want to reduce this value along with bukkit.yml's spawn-limits. Setting this lower will make it feel as if there are more mobs around you. This should be lower than or equal to your simulation distance, and never larger than your hard despawn range / 16.
entity-activation-range
You can set what distance from the player an entity should be for it to tick (do stuff). Reducing those values helps performance, but may result in irresponsive mobs until the player gets really close to them. Lowering this too far can break certain mob farms; iron farms being the most common victim.
entity-tracking-range
This is distance in blocks from which entities will be visible. They just won't be sent to players. If set too low this can cause mobs to seem to appear out of nowhere near a player. In the majority of cases this should be higher than your entity-activation-range.
tick-inactive-villagers
Good starting value: false
This allows you to control whether villagers should be ticked outside of the activation range. This will make villagers proceed as normal and ignore the activation range. Disabling this will help performance, but might be confusing for players in certain situations. This may cause issues with iron farms and trade restocking.
nerf-spawner-mobs
Good starting value: true
You can make mobs spawned by a monster spawner have no AI. Nerfed mobs will do nothing. You can make them jump while in water by changing spawner-nerfed-mobs-should-jump to true in paper-world configuration.
despawn-ranges
Lets you adjust entity despawn ranges (in blocks). Lower those values to clear the mobs that are far away from the player faster. You should keep soft range around 30 and adjust hard range to a bit more than your actual simulation-distance, so mobs don't immediately despawn when the player goes just beyond the point of a chunk being loaded (this works well because of delay-chunk-unloads-by in paper-world configuration). When a mob is out of the hard range, it will be instantly despawned. When between the soft and hard range, it will have a random chance of despawning. Your hard range should be larger than your soft range. You should adjust this according to your view distance using (simulation-distance * 16) + 8. This partially accounts for chunks that haven't been unloaded yet after player visited them.
per-player-mob-spawns
Good starting value: true
This option decides if mob spawns should account for how many mobs are around target player already. You can bypass a lot of issues regarding mob spawns being inconsistent due to players creating farms that take up the entire mobcap. This will enable a more singleplayer-like spawning experience, allowing you to set lower spawn-limits. Enabling this does come with a very slight performance impact, however it's impact is overshadowed by the improvements in spawn-limits it allows.
max-entity-collisions
Good starting value: 2
Overwrites option with the same name in spigot.yml. It lets you decide how many collisions one entity can process at once. Value of 0 will cause inability to push other entities, including players. Value of 2 should be enough in most cases. It's worth noting that this will render maxEntityCramming gamerule useless if its value is over the value of this config option.
update-pathfinding-on-block-update
Good starting value: false
Disabling this will result in less pathfinding being done, increasing performance. In some cases this will cause mobs to appear more laggy; They will just passively update their path every 5 ticks (0.25 sec).
fix-climbing-bypassing-cramming-rule
Good starting value: true
Enabling this will fix entities not being affected by cramming while climbing. This will prevent absurd amounts of mobs being stacked in small spaces even if they're climbing (spiders).
armor-stands.tick
Good starting value: false
In most cases you can safely set this to false. If you're using armor stands or any plugins that modify their behavior and you experience issues, re-enable it. This will prevent armor stands from being pushed by water or being affected by gravity.
armor-stands.do-collision-entity-lookups
Good starting value: false
Here you can disable armor stand collisions. This will help if you have a lot of armor stands and don't need them colliding with anything.
tick-rates
It is not recommended to change these values from their defaults while Pufferfish's DAB is enabled!
This decides how often specified behaviors and sensors are being fired in ticks. acquirepoi for villagers seems to be the heaviest behavior, so it's been greately increased. Decrease it in case of issues with villagers finding their way around.
dab.enabled
Good starting value: true
DAB (dynamic activation of brain) reduces the amount an entity is ticked the further away it is from players. DAB works on a gradient instead of a hard cutoff like EAR. Instead of fully ticking close entities and barely ticking far entities, DAB will reduce the amount an entity is ticked based on the result of a calculation influenced by dab.activation-dist-mod.
dab.max-tick-freq
Good starting value: 20
Defines the slowest amount entities farthest from players will be ticked. Increasing this value may improve the performance of entities far from view but may break farms or greatly nerf mob behavior. If enabling DAB breaks mob farms, try decreasing this value.
dab.activation-dist-mod
Good starting value: 7
Controls the gradient in which mobs are ticked. Decreasing this will activate DAB closer to players, improving DAB's performance gains, but will affect how entities interact with their surroundings and may break mob farms. If enabling DAB breaks mob farms, try increasing this value.
enable-async-mob-spawning
Good starting value: true
If asynchronous mob spawning should be enabled. For this to work, the Paper's per-player-mob-spawns setting must be enabled. This option does not actually spawn mobs asynchronous, but does offload much of the computational effort involved with spawning new mobs to a different thread. Enabling this option should not be noticeable on vanilla gameplay.
enable-suffocation-optimization
Good starting value: true
This option optimises a suffocation check (the check to see if a mob is inside a block and if they should take suffocation damage), by rate limiting the check to the damage timeout. This optimisation should be impossible to notice unless you're an extremely technical player who's using tick-precise timing to kill an entity at exactly the right time by suffocation.
inactive-goal-selector-throttle
Good starting value: true
Throttles the AI goal selector in entity inactive ticks, causing the inactive entities to update their goal selector every 20 ticks instead of every tick. Can improve performance by a few percent, and has minor gameplay implications.
zombie.aggressive-towards-villager-when-lagging
Good starting value: false
Enabling this will cause zombies to stop targeting villagers if the server is below the tps threshold set with lagging-threshold in purpur.yml.
entities-can-use-portals
Good starting value: false
This option can disable portal usage of all entities besides the player. This prevents entities from loading chunks by changing worlds which is handled on the main thread. This has the side effect of entities not being able to go through portals.
villager.lobotomize.enabled
Good starting value: true
This should only be enabled if villagers are causing lag! Otherwise, the pathfinding checks may decrease performance.
Lobotomized villagers are stripped from their AI and only restock their offers every so often. Enabling this will lobotomize villagers that are unable to pathfind to their destination. Freeing them should unlobotomize them.
villager.search-radius
Radius within which villagers will search for job site blocks and beds. This significantly boosts performance with large amount of villagers, but will prevent them from detecting job site blocks or beds that are further away than set value.
merge-radius
This decides the distance between the items and exp orbs to be merged, reducing the amount of items ticking on the ground. Setting this too high will lead to the illusion of items or exp orbs disappearing as they merge together. Setting this too high will break some farms, as well as allow items to teleport through blocks. There are no checks done to prevent items from merging through walls (unless Paper's fix-items-merging-through-walls setting is activated). Exp is only merged on creation.
hopper-transfer
Good starting value: 8
Time in ticks that hoppers will wait to move an item. Increasing this will help improve performance if there are a lot of hoppers on your server, but will break hopper-based clocks and possibly item sorting systems if set too high.
hopper-check
Good starting value: 8
Time in ticks between hoppers checking for an item above them or in the inventory above them. Increasing this will help performance if there are a lot of hoppers on your server, but will break hopper-based clocks and item sorting systems relying on water streams.
alt-item-despawn-rate
This list lets you set alternative time (in ticks) to despawn certain types of dropped items faster or slower than default. This option can be used instead of item clearing plugins along with merge-radius to improve performance.
redstone-implementation
Good starting value: ALTERNATE_CURRENT
Replaces the redstone system with faster and alternative versions that reduce redundant block updates, lowering the amount of logic your server has to calculate. Using a non-vanilla implementation may introduce minor inconsistencies with very technical redstone, but the performance gains far outweigh the possible niche issues. A non-vanilla implementation option may additionally fix other redstone inconsistencies caused by CraftBukkit.
The ALTERNATE_CURRENT implementation is based off of the Alternate Current mod. More information on this algorithm can be found on their resource page.
hopper.disable-move-event
Good starting value: false
InventoryMoveItemEvent doesn't fire unless there is a plugin actively listening to that event. This means that you only should set this to true if you have such plugin(s) and don't care about them not being able to act on this event. Do not set to true if you want to use plugins that listen to this event, e.g. protection plugins!
hopper.ignore-occluding-blocks
Good starting value: true
Determines if hoppers will ignore containers inside full blocks, for example hopper minecart inside sand or gravel block. Keeping this enabled will break some contraptions depending on that behavior.
tick-rates.mob-spawner
Good starting value: 2
This option lets you configure how often spawners should be ticked. Higher values mean less lag if you have a lot of spawners, although if set too high (relative to your spawners delay) mob spawn rates will decrease.
optimize-explosions
Good starting value: true
Setting this to true replaces the vanilla explosion algorithm with a faster one, at a cost of slight inaccuracy when calculating explosion damage. This is usually not noticeable.
treasure-maps.enabled
Good starting value: false
Generating treasure maps is extremely expensive and can hang a server if the structure it's trying to locate is in an ungenerated chunk. It's only safe to enable this if you pregenerated your world and set a vanilla world border.
treasure-maps.find-already-discovered
Default value of this option forces the newly generated maps to look for unexplored structure, which are usually in not yet generated chunks. Setting this to true makes it so maps can lead to the structures that were discovered earlier. If you don't change this to true you may experience the server hanging or crashing when generating new treasure maps. villager-trade is for maps traded by villagers and loot-tables refers to anything that generates loot dynamically like treasure chests, dungeon chests, etc.
tick-rates.grass-spread
Good starting value: 4
Time in ticks between the server trying to spread grass or mycelium. This will make it so large areas of dirt will take a little longer to turn to grass or mycelium. Setting this to around 4 should work nicely if you want to decrease it without the decreased spread rate being noticeable.
tick-rates.container-update
Good starting value: 1
Time in ticks between container updates. Increasing this might help if container updates cause issues for you (it rarely happens), but makes it easier for players to experience desync when interacting with inventories (ghost items).
non-player-arrow-despawn-rate
Good starting value: 20
Time in ticks after which arrows shot by mobs should disappear after hitting something. Players can't pick these up anyway, so you may as well set this to something like 20 (1 second).
creative-arrow-despawn-rate
Good starting value: 20
Time in ticks after which arrows shot by players in creative mode should disappear after hitting something. Players can't pick these up anyway, so you may as well set this to something like 20 (1 second).
disable-method-profiler
Good starting value: true
This option will disable some additional profiling done by the game. This profiling is not necessary to run in production and can cause additional lag.
dolphin.disable-treasure-searching
Good starting value: true
Prevents dolphins from performing structure search similar to treasure maps
teleport-if-outside-border
Good starting value: true
Allows you to teleport the player to the world spawn if they happen to be outside of the world border. Helpful since the vanilla world border is bypassable and the damage it does to the player can be mitigated.
In conclusion, optimizing your server settings is crucial for maintaining smooth gameplay and preventing performance issues like lag and TPS drops. Each adjustment should be carefully considered based on your server's specific needs and player activity. By fine-tuning configurations such as view distance, spawn limits, and tick intervals, you can strike a balance between performance and gameplay experience. Remember to regularly monitor your server's performance metrics after making changes to ensure they have the desired effect. With these optimizations in place, your server can provide a more enjoyable and stable environment for players.

Description of the Free Service: HidenCloud offers its free services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not explicitly or implicitly guarantee the quality, reliability, or suitability for specific purposes of these services. Users should be aware that these services may have limitations and are not guaranteed in the same way as paid services.
Operational Limitations: Free servers are subject to specific operational limitations as part of HidenCloud’s resource management policy: (a) Automatic Shutdown: Free servers will automatically shut down every six (6) hours of continuous uptime. Users must manually restart their server through the control panel. This automatic shutdown does not affect the renewal period or data retention policies. (b) Promotional Messages: HidenCloud reserves the right to display promotional or informational messages within the in-game console (e.g., “Promo HidenCloud”) on free servers. By using a free server, the user expressly consents to the display of these promotional messages. (c) Renewal Period: Free servers must be renewed manually every five (5) days. (d) Suspension and Deletion Policy: If a user fails to renew a free server within the five (5) day period, the server will enter a suspended state for two (2) additional days. During this suspension period, the server and its data will remain inaccessible. If the user does not renew within those two (2) days, the server and all associated data will be permanently deleted, and recovery will not be possible. HidenCloud shall not be held responsible for any loss of information resulting from non-renewal.
Limitation of Liability: HidenCloud shall not be responsible for any loss of data, service interruptions, or direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of our free services. Users accept that the use of these services is at their own risk and responsibility, acknowledging that such services may be subject to failures and limitations.
Right to Modify, Suspend, or Cancel: HidenCloud reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any free service at any time without prior notice. These actions may be carried out for reasons including, but not limited to, technical, security, or operational circumstances that HidenCloud deems appropriate.
Consequences of Suspension or Cancellation: If a user violates the Terms of Service, abuses the provided resources, or engages in activities that compromise the security or integrity of our systems, HidenCloud reserves the right to immediately suspend or cancel access to the free services without notice.
Updates to the Terms: HidenCloud may update or modify these free service terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately after publication. We recommend users regularly review these terms to stay informed of any updates.
The use of HidenCloud’s free services implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of the terms presented here, please refrain from using our free services.
All information mentioned in all documentation also applies, specifically: Free Tier Server Deleted or Account Restricted?
2.1 To use our services, the customer must register. By registering, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions.
2.2 Registration requires providing an email address, a username, and a password. Optionally, and for certain contractual products, additional personal information may be required, such as address, phone number, and date of birth.
2.3 The customer ensures that all information provided during registration is correct and complete.
2.4 Customers can register and log in using their Google or Discord account through the respective OAuth (Open Authorization) services. By using these third-party authentication methods, customers agree to the terms and conditions of the respective service providers (Google or Discord).
2.5 The use of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and temporary email addresses is strictly prohibited during the registration process. Customers must provide a valid and permanent email address to complete the registration. If we are unable to verify your email (internal verification process), your account will be placed under review (pending). If you believe this is an error, please contact support.
2.6 We reserve the right to verify the authenticity of the provided email address and to reject or cancel accounts found using temporary email services or VPNs during registration.
2.7 If a customer's account is canceled due to a violation of section 2.5 or 2.6, no refunds will be issued for any services or products purchased.
2.8 Multiple Account Policy
Free Accounts: Each user is strictly limited to one (1) free account. Creating or attempting to create multiple free accounts is prohibited. If a user is found to have or attempts to create multiple free accounts, access to all associated accounts will be blocked. To regain access, the user must complete an identity verification process through Didit, a third-party identity verification platform that will handle and process all personal data required for identity verification purposes. Users acknowledge that by using Didit's verification services, they agree to Didit's terms and privacy policies.
Paid Accounts: Users with paid services are permitted to maintain multiple accounts. There is no restriction on the number of paid accounts a single user may have, provided all accounts comply with these Terms of Service.
2.9 When you create an account on hidencloud you will be asked to enter a code sent to your email to verify that you are the owner of that email. If you do not verify your email within a day, the account will be automatically deleted.
3.1 HidenCloud will make reasonable efforts to provide continuous service. However, HidenCloud shall not be held liable for any loss of data resulting from delays beyond our control, missed or undelivered messages, service interruptions, or customer errors or omissions. HidenCloud is not responsible for any losses incurred due to acts of God or force majeure, including civil unrest, riots, floods, droughts, fires, wars, or imposing legislation.
3.2 You acknowledge that HidenCloud's liability shall be limited as follows: HidenCloud shall not be held liable for any indirect, special, or consequential damages that you may suffer, including but not limited to loss of business, contracts, profits, savings, or any other type of damage. However, nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit HidenCloud's liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. For direct damages caused by our negligence, our liability shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. HidenCloud cannot exercise control over material transmitted over the internet and hereby excludes all liability for the publication of inaccurate, misleading, offensive, threatening, or obscene material by the customer, or material that violates Spanish or other applicable laws.
3.3 HidenCloud customers are responsible for all charges imposed by their telephone service provider arising from the customer's use of the services.
3.4 Occasionally, HidenCloud or its subcontractors may need to perform maintenance on the network, which may require temporarily shutting down certain parts of it. HidenCloud will provide as much notice as possible and will attempt to complete the work within the specified timeframe. HidenCloud shall not be held liable for any damages arising from such a suspension of the service.
3.5 The customer agrees not to reassign or transfer any part of the services without prior authorization from HidenCloud.
3.6 You acknowledge and agree that your name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses, and assigned IP addresses may be disclosed to the RIPE NCC (Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre) to ensure compliance with prevailing RIPE policies, and that such data may be published, either in whole or in part, in the RIPE WHOIS database.
3.7 License costs for any third-party applications and software offered with our hosting plans are subject to change without prior written notice.
3.8 HidenCloud reserves the right to pass on any additional charges or price increases resulting from changes in pricing by third-party software and license vendors, regardless of the hosting cycle.
4.1 Customers must use the Services provided for lawful and authorized purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation of any information, data, or material that violates Spanish law is strictly prohibited. The list of prohibited content includes, but is not limited to:
(a) Illegal Material: This includes the unauthorized use of copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of regulations or that is deemed misleading.
(b) Warez: This includes, but is not limited to, pirated software, ROMs, emulators, phreaking, hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, and the encryption of any of the aforementioned. It also includes any sites that provide "links to" or "how to" information about such material.
(c) HYIP: We do not allow any HYIP sites or sites that link to or have content related to HYIP sites.
(d) Proxy: We do not allow any proxy setups or connections or any sort of activity through remote proxy connections on our servers. The first offense committed by the Customer will result in the suspension of their account. Any second violation will result in immediate account termination.
(e) IRC Hosts: Hosting an IRC server that is part of or connected to another IRC network or server, or has a connection to an IRC network, is not permitted. Servers or hosting accounts found to be connecting to or part of these networks will be promptly removed from our network without notice. The server will not be reconnected to the network until all traces of the IRC server have been completely removed, and we have been granted access to verify the removal of the content. Any second violation will result in immediate account termination.
(f) Defamatory Content: Any website that makes false claims, whether expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may negatively impact an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation.
(g) Bit Torrents: The use of software and scripts for "bit torrents" or similar purposes is not allowed on our servers. This includes sending or receiving files using these mechanisms.
4.2 We are not obligated to edit, review, or modify the contents of your website. However, we reserve the right to remove any content without notice. Please note that we do not actively monitor messages posted on our platform, but we reserve the right to remove such messages at our sole discretion.
4.3 Any customer found using the services for any of the purposes stated in Clause 4.1 may have their account terminated without notice.
4.4 The customer agrees to fully and effectively indemnify HidenCloud against all losses, costs, actions, proceedings, claims, damages, expenses (including legal fees), or liabilities suffered or incurred directly as a result of the customer's breach or non-compliance with this Clause 4.
4.5 The Customer shall defend and pay all costs, damages, awards, fees (including legal expenses), and judgments awarded against HidenCloud arising from a breach or breach of this Clause 4. HidenCloud may, at its absolute discretion, defend such claims and may settle such claims with the customer's consent, provided that such consent is not unreasonably withheld. The customer shall provide HidenCloud with the necessary assistance to defend such claims at the customer's sole expense.
You have the right to cancel and request a refund without the need for explanation within a period of 72 hours (3 days) from the date of purchase of any of our services on the hidencloud.com website ("HidenCloud"). This cancellation and refund option will not apply to products or services purchased during a special promotion. To exercise this right, you must contact us via email at [email protected] or by phone or whatsapp at +34 930 414 115, indicating the details of the purchase you wish to cancel and refund. Once we have received your request, we will process the refund within 10 business days using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless we agree on an alternative method with you. It is important to note that any cancellation and refund request made after the 72-hour period will not be eligible for a refund, unless required by applicable consumer rights laws in your local jurisdiction. By using our services on HidenCloud, you accept and understand these terms of cancellation and refund.
*A full refund cannot be issued for Root VPS services. Instead, a refund will be provided for the total amount paid, minus the cost of the hours the service has been active. (This is because using infrastructure incurs costs that cannot be recovered).
*Purchases made through "Balance" will only be refunded through "Balance"

5.15 During the first ninety (90) days following the registration or transfer of a domain, you may not transfer the domain to another registrar. This restriction does not apply to domains purchased during a promotion, as such domains cannot be canceled or transferred to another registrar.
5.16 HidenCloud will not accept any transfer requests for a domain that is due to expire within 7 days.
5.17 Ownership of a domain will not be transferred to another registrar until all fees associated with the domain registration, renewal, or transfer have been paid, including outstanding web hosting or web development liabilities.

5.19 If ICANN, Whois, or any replacement body (or the equivalent body/registrar in a different jurisdiction) lodges a complaint regarding the use of the domain name, including but not limited to "cybersquatting," we reserve the right to immediately cancel this service without issuing refunds.
5.20 "Due to a legal agreement between ENOM INC, our domain registrar, and LegitScript, customers should be aware that domains purchased with the intent of selling prescription drugs through a company not properly licensed in the destination country may be frozen pending a legal appeal. HidenCloud has no control over this process, and disputes must be handled through the proper legal channels in the disputed country."
5.21 HidenCloud reserves the right to change the registrar holding a domain at its own discretion and without notice.
5.22 If you are registering a domain on behalf of a third party, you are obligated to ensure that the domain owner is made aware of these terms and conditions.
5.23 During a promotional campaign, a limit of 20 domains per person is available for purchase. We reserve the right to refuse orders if deemed necessary.

d) Consumer Rights: Notwithstanding the above, HidenCloud will honor all refund rights required by applicable consumer protection laws in the user's jurisdiction, including the 14-day withdrawal right under European regulations where applicable.
e) Exceptions: Root VPS services and purchases made during special promotions may have different refund policies, as specified in the corresponding sections of these terms.
6.3 We partner with Tebex Limited (www.tebex.io), who are the official merchant of digital content produced by us. If you wish to purchase licenses to use digital content we produce, you must do so through Tebex as our licensed reseller and merchant of record. In order to make any such purchase from Tebex, you must agree to their terms, available at https://checkout.tebex.io/terms. If you have any queries about a purchase made through Tebex, including but not limited to refund requests, technical issues or billing enquiries, you should contact Tebex support at https://www.tebex.io/contact/checkout in the first instance.
7.1 You agree and understand that any attempts to undermine or cause harm to any of our servers, including those used for game hosting and Discord bot hosting, is strictly prohibited. We take no responsibility for the use of our clients' accounts in such activities.
7.2 If you abuse the resources we provide in any way, including excessive resource usage or causing strain to other sites on shared servers, we reserve the right to immediately deactivate your account without refund.
7.3 If your account operates a website that utilizes what we deem to be excessive CPU cycles or resources that adversely affect other sites, we may impose new terms on you, such as requiring an upgrade to a higher hosting plan. On a shared server, you are allowed to utilize up to 25% of the total available resources. If your account consistently exceeds this limit, it may result in suspension.
7.4 Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks directed at HidenCloud or any attempts to launch a DDoS attack from our servers are strictly prohibited. We will vigorously investigate all infractions or suspected infractions and may terminate your account immediately.
7.5 HidenCloud reserves the right to disable or delete any feature or application provided on the shared hosting service without prior notification if we determine that the feature or application is detrimental to the overall health and performance of our web servers.
7.6 If you engage in disrespectful behavior towards any member of the HidenCloud staff, we have the right to terminate your account without any refund.
8.1 If the customer fails to cancel the contractual relationship in a timely manner (one week prior to the contract's end), the contract will automatically be extended for the same duration as the existing contract. However, for root server products and dedicated server products, the notice period for cancellation is 4 weeks (28 days).
8.2 Cancellation can be initiated by mail or fax to the respective valid address provided in the imprint or through our online support via email or the ticket system in the server administration area (Web interface).
8.3 The right of both parties to terminate the contract for justifiable reasons remains unaffected and valid at all times.
8.4 For free servers, we reserve the right to close and delete any free server at our discretion with a minimum of 24 hours’ advance notice to the user, except in cases of serious violations of these terms and conditions where immediate action is required to protect our systems, other users, or comply with legal obligations. Additionally, free servers are subject to an automatic shutdown every six (6) hours of continuous operation, which does not affect their renewal cycle. Free servers must be manually renewed every five (5) days; if not renewed, they will enter a suspended state for two (2) days, after which the server and all data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. For paid servers, closure actions will only be taken in the event of a violation of the terms and conditions.
9.1 HidenCloud operates with redundant infrastructure designed to provide high availability and minimize service disruptions. Our systems include redundant hardware components, network paths, and power supplies to ensure service continuity.
9.2 Important Notice: HidenCloud does not provide backup services for customer data. While our redundant infrastructure is designed to prevent hardware failures and maintain service availability, it is not a substitute for proper data backups. Customers are solely responsible for maintaining their own backups of all data, files, databases, and configurations stored on our services.
9.3 In the event of data loss for any reason, including but not limited to hardware failure, software errors, human error, or force majeure events, HidenCloud cannot restore customer data. We strongly recommend that all customers implement and maintain comprehensive backup strategies appropriate to their needs.
9.4 Data redundancy in our infrastructure is designed for operational continuity and does not constitute a backup solution. Customers should not rely on infrastructure redundancy as a method of data recovery.
10.1 HidenCloud acknowledges that our staff members are not obligated to provide assistance over live chat, ticket, or phone support for tasks such as setting up email accounts, sub-domains, add-on domains, or installing applications. Our staff members do not have access to the client control panel login. We expect our customers to refer to our Knowledgebase to familiarize themselves with the features of the control panels we provide.
10.2 Our support team is available to assist you with any functions that are not working properly or if there are server-side issues that need to be resolved from our end. For basic tasks that can be managed from the control panel, we expect customers to resolve them independently.
10.3 It is your responsibility to upload your website using a file manager or FTP software from your end. Databases should be uploaded through PHPMyAdmin, and tasks such as setting up FTP accounts, mailboxes, sub-domains, add-on domains, and parked domains should be performed by the client.
11.1 Suspension: Suspended accounts will remain inactive for 4 days. During this time, hosted servers will not be accessible.
11.2 Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your HidenCloud account, please note that the cancellation process may take up to 7 days to complete. During this period, your account will remain active, and you can continue to use the services.
11.3 Server Deletion: If you request the deletion of a server, please be aware that the deletion process may take up to 15 days. During this time, the server and all associated data will be permanently removed.
11.4 Pending Order Deletion: Pending orders will be automatically deleted after 5 days if the corresponding payment has not been made.
11.5 Order Cancellation: If you wish to cancel an order before it is processed, please do so within 3 days of placing the order.
11.6 Automatic Ticket Closure: Support tickets will be automatically closed after 5 days if no response has been received.
11.7 Ticket Lock Duration: If you open a support ticket, it will be locked for a maximum of 3 days. During this period, you will be unable to open new tickets related to the same issue.
Please note that these policies apply to the HidenCloud platform and are subject to change. We recommend regularly reviewing our updated policies.
12.1 Any threat of legal action against HidenCloud will result in the immediate termination of your account. HidenCloud reserves the right to amend any or all of the above policies, guidelines, and disclaimers without prior notification. We also retain the right to adjust pricing and make changes to our account plans without prior notification.
HidenCloud reserves the right to modify or change these terms of service at any time. All customers are bound by the latest terms of service published on our website.
13.1 This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, including Spanish and European Union consumer protection legislation. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.
13.2 Language: These Terms of Service are provided in English for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy or conflict between the English version and the Spanish version of these Terms, the Spanish version shall prevail and be legally binding.
13.3 Consumer Rights: As a company established in Spain, we comply with all applicable Spanish consumer protection laws and European Union consumer directives. Nothing in these Terms shall affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Spanish Law 1/2007 (General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users) and applicable EU consumer protection regulations.
13.4 Dispute Resolution: In accordance with Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, we inform you that the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for consumer disputes. You can access this platform at: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. Our email address for ODR purposes is: [email protected]. However, we prefer to resolve any disputes directly with our customers before resorting to formal dispute resolution mechanisms.
14.1 HidenCloud is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. This section summarizes your rights and our obligations regarding personal data processing.
14.2 Legal Basis for Processing: We process personal data based on: (a) contractual necessity to provide our services, (b) compliance with legal obligations, (c) our legitimate interests in operating our business, or (d) your consent where specifically requested.
14.3 Your Data Rights: Under GDPR, you have the right to:
Access your personal data held by us
Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict processing of your data
Data portability to transfer your data to another service provider
Object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
14.4 Exercising Your Rights: To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within one month as required by law.

We also occasionally collect information that is made publicly available on social networking websites. You can control the amount of information that social networking websites make public by visiting these websites and changing your privacy settings.
